The Role An established contractor specialising in roofing, cladding and façade solutions is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its commercial team in Kerry. This is a key role involved in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for a wide range of projects across the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure competitive, well-structured tenders while maintaining high technical and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities - Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing, cladding and façade projects
- Interpreting architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Producing Bills of Quantities from drawings and specifications
- Measuring drawings using digital take-off software (e.g. Bluebeam or similar)
- Reviewing project specifications to ensure full scope coverage
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Evaluating design proposals and suggesting value engineering options without compromising quality or performance
- Assisting in tender submissions and post-tender clarifications
- Communicating effectively with clients, consultants and project teams
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- 5-10 years' experience in a similar estimating role, ideally within roofing and cladding
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems and materials (e.g. Moy Materials, Sika, Soprema)
- Strong knowledge of cladding systems and materials (e.g. Kingspan / Euroclad, Paroc, Hoesch)
- Knowledge of rainscreen cladding systems supplied by Kingspan, Vivalda, Swisspearl or similar
- Proven ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
