OCS Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Manager on behalf of a leading construction and civil engineering contractor operating across major infrastructure and building projects in Dublin.
This is a senior role with responsibility for managing environmental compliance and performance across multiple projects, ensuring all works are delivered in line with environmental legislation, best practice, and company standards.
The Role The Environmental Manager will take ownership of the environmental management function, working closely with project teams, senior management, clients, and external stakeholders to drive high environmental standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities - Lead, develop and maintain the company's Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, licences, permits and planning conditions
- Provide environmental support and guidance to project teams across multiple sites
- Carry out environmental audits, inspections and risk assessments, and manage corrective actions
- Prepare and submit environmental reports to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Liaise with clients, local authorities and regulators as required
- Deliver environmental training and awareness programmes to staff and site personnel
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to waste management, sustainability, resource efficiency and environmental performance
- Support tendering and pre-construction activities from an environmental perspective
Requirements - Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an environmental management role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Irish environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience implementing and managing ISO 14001 systems
- Proven ability to work across multiple projects and engage with senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills
- Full driving licence
