We are hiring an EHS Lead for a M&E company based in Tipperary. Please note this role requires a full drivers license.
The role is split between head office (Cahir) approx 2 days a week with remainder 3 days spent at sites across Ireland.
Our Client Our client has an excellent opportunity for a EHS Lead to join their expanding team. This role will be an integral part of the Project Team and will be responsible for providing specialist advise and support on all matters relating to the Environment, Health, Safety and Welfare across the business. You will lead the development and deliver the company's EHS Strategy. You will become a Subject Matter Expert and ensure the company's safety standards are effectively implemented across the business.
Location: Cahir, Co. Tipperary & Site Specific
Key responsibilities: Compliance & Integrated Management System - Own the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure compliance with EHS legislation.
- Set up each site with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
Risk Management - Identify and control all High-Risk Activities (HRAs) on site.
- Lead the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Training & Culture - Develop SOPs and deliver training, toolbox talks and weekly safety alerts to employees and subcontractors.
- Foster a proactive safety culture, mentoring and coaching the H&S team.
Incident & Inspection - Investigate incidents in line with company procedures. Track corrective actions to closure.
- Schedule and record statutory inspections in the SharePoint Safety hub.
ISO & Continuous Improvement - Manage and maintain ISO standards.
- Provide EHS documentation and project support as required.
- Any other reasonable duties to meet business needs.
To be a good fit for this role? You will need: - Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH or equivalent - level 7 and above).
- 3–5 years’ experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety role (construction/engineering preferred).
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with colleagues, clients and subcontractors.
- IT literate and comfortable with SharePoint and MS Office.
- Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to sites.
- Demonstrate people-management and coaching skills.

- Reports to Operations Manager
- Managing 1-2 safety officers, will start as sole role and move into management.
- Current Projects: Data Centre, Food & Beverage, Ports, Pharma
- Hours: 8.30-17.00 Mon-Thurs, 8.30-4 Friday.
