OCS Recruitment is seeking a dedicated
Health & Safety Coordinator on behalf of a respected engineering and industrial services organisation. This position is ideal for a motivated H&S professional with experience in construction, engineering, or heavy industry settings.
Role Overview As the
Health & Safety Coordinator, you will support multiple operational sites to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. You will work closely with senior HSE personnel, site teams, and project managers to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities - Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies and procedures across sites.
- Carry out routine workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work documentation.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and other HSE training to staff and subcontractors.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident registers.
- Engage with project managers, supervisors, and stakeholders to promote a proactive safety culture.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- 1+ years’ experience in a similar H&S role within construction or engineering.
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple sites as required. (mileage provided)
- Full clean driver's licence & own transport
1-2 days based in Tipperary with the rest of the week at site visits across Ireland.
