A leading Irish main contractor is seeking a Construction Buyer to join their commercial team. The role will support live projects by procuring materials and plant, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and strong supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities - Procurement of construction materials and plant in line with project programmes
- Placing purchase orders and managing supplier lead times
- Liaising with site teams to meet delivery and specification requirements
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Monitoring market pricing and availability
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and cost data
Requirements - Previous experience as a Buyer within a main contractor or construction environment in Ireland (1-3 years)
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and local supply chains
- Good communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
