Location: Head Office, Dublin 15. May need to visit sites from time to time.
Reporting to: Sustainability Design Lead

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Assistant Sustainability Specialist to support the Sustainability Lead in the delivery of high-impact sustainability outcomes across our construction and development projects. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a leader in the field, gaining exposure to real-world implementation of sustainability strategies, certifications, and tools such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

The successful candidate will act as a right-hand person, helping to streamline operations, manage documentation, follow up on key tasks, and take ownership of specific technical and research-based workstreams. You should be equally comfortable managing diaries and chasing consultants as you are reviewing LCA data, drafting reports, or coordinating sustainability submissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to the Sustainability Lead to manage day-to-day operations, meetings, and project delivery.
  • Track sustainability goals and certification progress (e.g., HPI, BREEAM, LEED, etc.) across multiple developments.
  • Support the execution and coordination of Life Cycle Assessments, including liaising with quantity surveyors and design teams.
  • Prepare draft reports, templates, and documentation for sustainability assessments and project reviews.
  • Help manage internal project dashboards and sustainability trackers.
  • Conduct targeted research on sustainability innovations, policy updates, or product alternatives.
  • Organize meetings, manage calendars, and support follow-up actions with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Maintain organized records of project documentation and sustainability evidence.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • A strong interest in sustainability in the built environment, ideally with a qualification or background in environmental science, architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Some experience or familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment tools and sustainability frameworks in construction (e.g., EPDs, OneClick LCA, BREEAM, HPI, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with spreadsheets, templates, and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of working with minimal direction when needed.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Essential):
  • Experience working in or with construction or property development teams.
  • Familiarity with Irish or UK-based sustainability standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com).
